Widgets

Users can easily create their own objects and save them as Widgets. The user's widgets can be included in diagrams in exactly the same way as the built-in widgets. A widget can simply be an existing object (or widget) that has been customised by having some of its properties changed. A widget can also be created by adding drawing objects to an existing object (or widget), and this allows users to create virtually any drawing object they might require.

For an example of creating a widget see the Creating A Widget Tutorial, which is taken from the Schematic manual.

Schematic comes supplied with a rich collection of widgets that allow electrical schematic diagrams, UML diagrams, flow charts, network diagrams etc. to be created (see built-in libraries).
